Burbage House

This complex project was a conversion of existing building into residential and commercial units encompassing demolition, groundworks, and underground drainage.

To prepare the building for its new purpose, we implemented substantial structural enhancements, including perimeter underpinning to reinforce the foundations. The basement was waterproofed, lowered, and underwent complex structural modifications. A new steel frame was constructed on the roof to create additional office space, complete with a green roof and courtyard. To improve accessibility, the internal lift was extended to an external walkway. Ground floor alterations included the installation of a contemporary glazed brick and timber shopfront.

There were significant challenges with this project, particularly in relation to the temporary works and underpinning, which required specialist expertise. Our team also excelled in the design of steelwork connections and cladding solutions. This project was secured following our successful completion of works at Aire Spa, and our expertise has led to a subsequent façade replacement contract with the architects.
