This was a complex project involving the comprehensive refurbishment of a high-rise residential building to ensure fire safety compliance and enhance its aesthetic appeal.

Our client, a property management company, sought to address critical fire safety concerns in a multi-story apartment building. This involved replacing combustible materials on the building's external envelope, including the façade, and installing new, non-combustible finishes.

The project site was a densely populated area in London, with the building comprising 36 apartments over eight floors and several basement levels. The building's unique architectural features, including terraced floors and a courtyard, presented additional logistical challenges.

Our scope of work included the complete removal of existing combustible materials from the façade, followed by the installation of a new insulated render system. We also replaced all combustible components of any attached features and applied a waterproof system to the external first-floor podium. Additionally, we replaced timber decking with a non-combustible alternative and installed new architectural lighting.

This project was logistically demanding due to the building's enclosed location. All scaffolding and materials had to be transported through the building from basement car parks, one of which was a live loading bay for a high-end department store. The ongoing occupancy of the residential building throughout the works added further complexity to the project.

Despite these challenges, we successfully completed the project, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and significantly improving the building's appearance and value
