At GPF Lewis, we specialise in delivering comprehensive solutions for even the most complex building envelope challenges. Our recent project involved a full design and remediation of an existing external building envelope, replacing a deteriorating Trespa rainscreen system with a new, durable cladding solution.

To ensure optimal performance and safety, we replaced not only the outer rainscreen but also all combustible components within the external wall build-up, including timber framework, combustible insulation, and cavity barriers. Our team meticulously addressed critical areas such as spandrel glazing, soffits, and curtain walls, installing new fire stopping measures to enhance fire resistance.

Beyond the facade, we extended our scope to include the replacement of combustible materials in specified attachments and the remediation of roofing systems. This holistic approach guaranteed a comprehensive solution that addressed potential vulnerabilities throughout the building envelope.

The project presented unique challenges due to the building's complex design and layout, requiring an extensive and intricate scaffold installation. Moreover, the building's proximity to the Quay introduced additional complexities, as weather conditions could rapidly change, impacting our operations at the required heights. Through careful planning, innovative solutions, and our team's expertise, we successfully overcame these obstacles and delivered a high-quality, durable, and safe building envelope.
