Landscaping works to an internal courtyard
SUMMARY / DESCRIPTION:
The project specification was to provide landscaping works to an internal courtyard for University College London’s residential students based in the Euston London Campus.
The purpose of the project was to regenerate the existing rundown area to create a calming aesthetic zone for the students to use during their free time. We achieved this by building levelled walkways, with soft landscaping, wooden seating areas all complimented by back lighting. We also installed a new cycle parking area and new steel staircase to provide further access into the building.
We were faced with many access restrictions due to the location of the site being in the centre of surrounding buildings. The simple task of earth removal turned into a logistically challenging process.
We worked tirelessly with the client’s project manager with open dialogue throughout to ensure the project didn’t affect any of the residents in close proximity.
