Silence was golden for Wealdstone on Saturday as they comfortably saw off big-spending Billericay Town to make it through to the FA Trophy semi-finals.

There was plenty of interest in the game with Billericay owner and boss Glenn Tamplin promising to sack himself as manager if they lost.
 

Stones boss Bobby Wilkinson says his side kept a keen eye on the goings-on in Essex during the week but decided to keep quiet and let their football do the talking.


And so they did. Bradley Bubb scored a hat-trick on his debut as Wealdstone ran out 5-2 winners. The Stones are now just 180 minutes from a trip to Wembley and Wilkinson told the Brent & Kilburn Times: “It was a great day for this football club.
