Five of our GPF Lewis Staff proudly volunteered to take part in the the hike, bike trike challenge all in aid to raise money for Cystic fibrosis (CF) and Children in Need.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition affecting more than 10,800 people in the UK. You are born with cystic fibrosis, one in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without even knowing. The gene affected by CF controls the movement of salt and water in and out of cells. People with cystic fibrosis experience a build-up of thick sticky mucus in the lungs, digestive system and other organs, causing a wide range of challenging symptoms affecting the entire body.
The Charity dedicated themselves to promoting excellence in research and clinical care, as well as providing practical support and advice to people with CF and their families. Their mission is to create a world where being born with CF no longer means a life-long struggle.
Our 5 person team was one of over 40 teams and were were proud to complete the challenge in a very respectable 2nd place! We are delighted to announce, as a result of our combined effort and support, the event raised a total of £100,000. The money will go towards improving the lives of children and young people all across the UK as well as those affected by cystic fibrosis.
Thank you for all of your support!
